Space for patients and families

The IRSJD promotes research focussed on the participation of patients and their families, both as regards the initiatives led by the institute and those in which we take part.

The Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu works to:

• Respond to the medical needs of patients and families and learn about their priorities by maintaining a close dialogue.
• Facilitate the interaction of patients and families with researchers in order to design research projects that are adapted as well as possible to the characteristics of the participating patients.
• Promote the dissemination of the results of research initiatives in an accessible format for patients and families, contributing to a model of social responsibility in research.

Cooperation with patient organizations is essential to ensure the feasibility of this model, as well as with other agents involved in research (academic institutions, the pharmaceutical industry, regulators, etc.).
