Researcher Aida Ormazabal has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Granada in 2001, a Master in Biotechnology from the University of Barcelona (2003) and a PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona in 2006.
Since 2002 she has been part of the metabolic disease laboratory that is integrated within the metabolic diseases unit of the SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital. Her first years (2002-2006) in the laboratory allowed her to develop new techniques for the analysis of biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid, the result of which was her doctoral thesis (June 2006).
In June 2008, she became part of the SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital indefinitely, taking care of the assistance and development of new methodologies. Over the last years, she has been part of multiple research projects, and since January 2014 she has a project as principal investigator (PI14 / 00032) for the study of trace elements and related biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid.
