The researcher Marta Díaz graduated in Biology in 1999 from the University of Barcelona and obtained a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Barcelona in 2006.
 
That same year she joined the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in the line of Research of the Dra. Lourdes Ibáñez as RETICS postdoctoral researcher. Since 2007, she has been a clinical researcher at CIBERDEM (Biomedical Research Center for Diabetes Networks and Associated Metabolic Diseases), Carlos III Health Institute, Madrid.

Since 2006, its research activity has focused on: on one hand, the characterization of endocrine-metabolic alterations, as well as certain genetic and epigenetic underlying retarded intrauterine growth; On the other hand, the study of the clinical efficacy of the combination therapy of low dose insulin sensitizers and antiandrogens in the treatment of ovarian hyperandrogenism in teenagers.
