Stefanos Tyrovolas

Researcher Stefanos Tyrovolas graduated in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2007 and later completed his Master in Sports Nutrition in 2009 from Harokopio University in Athens. In 2013, he received his Doctor of Nutrition degree from the same University.

From 2017 to 2018, he spent a postdoctoral stay at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, where she studied global healthy ageing. In 2019 he spent a short stay at Shenzhen Nanshan Hospital and DUKE University for one month and in 2020 he did a six-month postdoctoral stay at Polytechnic University in Hong Kong where he conducted studies on fragility and healthy ageing factors in the Asian population.

From 2016 to 2019 he worked as a researcher Sara Borrell at ISCIII. Since 2019 he is Miguel Servet Researcher at ISCIII, researching fragility, sarcopenia and nutrition in Spain and globally.

He currently leads the research line in Fragility, Sarcopenia and Nutrition within the group "Epidemiology of mental disorders and ageing" and studies the epidemiology of frailty and sarcopenia, analyzing, among others, the role of nutrition.
