Marina Verdaguer Rodriguez

Researcher Marina Verdaguer Rodríguez graduated in Psychology from Universitat de Barcelona (2019) and completed a Master's in General Health Psychology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2021). She has a PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 2026. In 2024 she completed an international research stay at the Department of Psychology and Mental Health at the University of Manchester, within the ePHIT research group, obtaining the international mention of the doctorate.

Since 2019 she has been part of the Etiopathogenesis and Treatment of Serious Mental Disorders (MERITT) research group at Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu She joined as a research assistant, continued as a predoctoral researcher and currently works as a postdoctoral researcher. She is linked to CIBERSAM (G11). Her research focuses on exploring the cognitive and metacognitive profiles of people with serious mental disorders from a sex/gender perspective, as well as studying the benefits of psychological interventions, such as Metacognitive Training, in combination with interventions based on physical activity. Together with Dr. Susana Ochoa, she coordinates the Thalassa project, and participates as a collaborating researcher in numerous research projects.

In the field of teaching, she has collaborated as an adjunct professor in the Psychology Degree at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2023-2025) and in the Postgraduate Program in Psychological Wellbeing with Salut Blava at the Universitat de Barcelona (2025-2026).
