A new European project is starting to create a European Youth Cancer Survivors Network

The EU-funded project "EU-CAYAS-NET" will develop a "European Youth Cancer Survivors Network" alongside an interactive virtual platform, with Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu participation.

The network will foster social networking, peer-support, knowledge-exchange, and aims at improving:

  1. The quality of life of survivors (including mental health, education & career support, follow-up care and transition).
  2. The care for adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer.
  3. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) along the whole treatment and survivorship trajectory.

The activities of the project include peer visits, meetings, training, virtual coworking, social media campaigns, webinars, policy recommendations and national and international events.

The Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu · Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona participates in the project, contributing its knowledge in the area of transition and patient participation in research and other related activities to the project.

Project co-financed by the European Union under the HADEA program (Grant Agreement no. 101056918 - EU-CAYAS-NET).
