The BIAL Foundation (Portugal) runs this biennial award to spotlight top-quality clinical research work that can make a real difference in clinical practice.
It's open to original intellectual work (free medical theme) with an associated clinical research component, based on results obtained by the author(s) and/or their team.
A few practical highlights:

• Prize: €100,000 (+ up to two Honourable Mentions of €10,000 each).
• Winning work will be published in a first exclusive printed and/or digital edition (per call information).

• Authorship requirement: at least one author must be a native physician of a Portuguese-speaking country.
• Not eligible: works already published as journal articles, systematic reviews/meta-analyses, books, or theses (incl. Master's/PhD theses).
• Conflict of interest: works by author(s) who are members of governing bodies / employees of the BIAL Foundation or any BIAL Group company are not eligible.
• Language: applications can be prepared in Portuguese or English.
• Submission format (key points): electronic form + annexes; files up to 35 MB each; candidate work up to 200 pages (Arial 12, 1.5 spacing); includes summary and CVs.
