The purpose of this call is to award financial support from the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (hereinafter, the Foundation) to high-quality research projects focused on the biology and medicine of cancer prevention, to be carried out entirely in Spain and of interest to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (hereinafter, the Association) and cancer patients.

Fundings

This grant provides a maximum of €300,000 over 3 years, with a maximum of €100,000 per year for the execution of the project.
 

Requisits

The group leader applying to this call must:

  • Hold a PhD degree.
  • Be contractually affiliated with a public or private non-profit entity qualified for scientific research in Spain. The research project must be carried out within this entity, which must be specified in the application.
  • The applicant must have at least two research articles published or accepted for publication as last author or corresponding author in a peer-reviewed international scientific journal ranked in the first quartile at the time of application. Publications dated after the submission will not be accepted. Only original research articles will be considered; reviews, book chapters, or patents will not be counted.
Sol·licitud
Scientific and technical documentation must be submitted in English (CVA and scientific proposal), in PDF format. Administrative documentation may be submitted in Spanish or English, also in PDF format.
Each application must include the following documents, using the provided templates where applicable:
  • Scanned copy of the applicant's valid ID, both sides, or a valid residence permit or passport.
  • Abbreviated Curriculum Vitae (CVA) of the applicant (Applicant CVA) from FECYT/MICIU (maximum 4 pages), generated using the online editor https://cvn.fecyt.es/editor/
  • Abbreviated Curriculum Vitae (CVA) of the collaborators (Collaborator CVA) who receive part of the budget (if applicable), from FECYT/MICIU (maximum 4 pages), generated using the online editor https://cvn.fecyt.es/editor/
  • Two research articles of the applicant published or accepted as last author (or corresponding author) in a peer-reviewed international journal ranked in the first quartile at the time of application.
  • Scientific proposal, using the Foundation's template, PDF format, including the updated declaration of responsibility.
  • Budget, using the Foundation's Excel template, distributed over three years,
  • Scientific video, in MP4, MOV, or AVI format, with a maximum duration of 5 minutes, summarizing the project's objectives and expected scientific outcomes, in English or Spanish.
  • Dissemination video, in MP4, MOV, or AVI format, with a maximum duration of 5 minutes, summarizing the project's objectives and expected outcomes for a general (non-scientific) audience, in Spanish, to be evaluated by members of the AECC Patient Advocacy program.
  • Dissemination report, using the Foundation's template, PDF format, written in non-scientific language and in Spanish, for evaluation by members of the AECC Patient Advocacy program.
  • Letter of support from the research center of the applicant
  • Environmental sustainability criteria in the design and development of the research (GMS field).
    When submitting the application, only those group leaders who have an associated budget should be invited as collaborators within the proposal.
