Introduction
The European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) is a non-profit umbrella organisation representing multiple European immunology societies. Through its funding programmes, EFIS aims to promote scientific collaboration, mobility, and knowledge exchange in the field of immunology.

General description
EFIS, together with Immunology Letters (IL), offers short-term fellowships (up to 3 months) to support transnational scientific collaboration within Europe. The fellowship provides a monthly allowance and reimburses travel expenses. It is intended for research stays and cannot be used to attend courses, meetings, or conferences.

Objectives

• Promote collaborative research between laboratories in different European countries.

• Support mobility and exchange of methods, techniques, or expertise.

• Stimulate networking and knowledge sharing across the European immunology community.

Eligibility / Requirements

• Applicants must be members of an EFIS-affiliated national society (exceptions may apply for candidates from countries without a national immunology society).

• Candidates must hold at least a Master's degree. Doctoral candidates or postdoctoral researchers with up to 7 years of postdoctoral experience (excluding career breaks) are eligible.

• The proposed stay must take place in a European institution different from the candidate's country of residence.

• Fellowships cannot be used to attend courses, symposiums, meetings, or congresses.

• Only one applicant per laboratory may be supported per year.

• The fellowship is not renewable and may only be held once.

• It cannot be awarded retroactively and cannot overlap with other funding schemes.
