Introduction to EU4Health

The EU4Health Programme (2021-2027) is the EU's ambitious funding programme for building a stronger European Health Union. With a budget of €5.3 billion, it supports actions aimed at improving and fostering health in the Union, protecting citizens from serious cross-border health threats, strengthening health systems, and making medicines, medical devices, and crisis-relevant products more available and affordable. It provides funding opportunities for organisations, health authorities, and stakeholders to collaborate on Union-wide health priorities.

Call Summary: Support for Conferences and Events

Objective

  • To fund the organisation of non-profit, Union-wide high-level science-policy-society conferences.

  • These events should bring together citizens, patients, practitioners, scientists, and policymakers at local, regional, and EU levels.

  • Conferences must cover important health topics aligned with EU health priorities and contribute to the European Health Union.

Expected Outcomes

  • Conferences with high-level speakers and a representative, multidisciplinary audience.

  • Strong communication activities targeting the public or specific professional groups to raise awareness of the European Health Union and its initiatives.

  • A clear Union-wide dimension: events must go beyond specific diseases to address cross-cutting EU health policy issues.

Scope

  • Provide a platform for discussion and exchange of good practices between Member States, associated third countries, and stakeholders.

  • Encourage collaboration on health-related challenges at the EU level.

  • Grants will be awarded to conferences that clearly match EU4Health objectives and priorities and ensure a pan-European reach.
