Cancer Grand Challenges has launched seven new research challenges that focus on addressing some of the most urgent and complex problems in cancer research. These challenges are designed to stimulate global collaboration and innovative approaches. Teams are invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for funding to tackle high-priority issues in cancer science.
The goal is to foster innovative, interdisciplinary collaborations that can help accelerate progress towards breakthrough treatments and strategies for cancer.
The grants offer funding of up to £20 million (approximately $25 million) for each selected challenge. Successful teams will work collaboratively on high-impact projects that aim to make a significant difference in cancer research.

Funding
- Cancer Grand Challenges awards provide up to £20 million for the direct costs incurred in accepting the funding.
- No more than 70% of a team's funding may be issued to institutions in a single country.

- The Cancer Grand Challenges initiative supports teams involving investigators from institutions across the globe and from different disciplines.
- Teams must be international in nature, with no more than 70% of the activity (and funding) being based in a single country.
- There is no requirement for teams to be led by, or include investigators, who are based in the UK or US or any other specific country.
