Introduction

Worldwide Cancer Research aims to find and fund life-saving research around the world to end the suffering and death caused by cancer.

Call objectives

The primary aim of the ERA-Net JPIAMR-ACTION co-funded call is:

  • To support novel and invocative basic, fundamental and translational research into the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of cancer on any field within this area.
  • To draw on epidemiological, behavioural and clinical data to provide a starting point for a new avenue of research.
  • To promote multidisciplinary or discipline-hopping projects in order to stimulate innovation.

Budget

The maximum budget allowed is £250.000, however, most of the three-year grants awarded have a budget below £200.000. Grants cover the direct costs of the project, including:

  • Research consumables and reagents.
  • Salaries of research staff working directly on the project.
  • Travel to conferences or to visit collaborators.
  • Essential services or small pieces of specialist/unusual equipment.

Grants are 12 to 36 months in length.

The host institution must cover all indirect and overhead costs.
