The researcher graduated in Architecture in 1990 from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, obtained his master's degree in Research Methodology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2016 and a Doctorate in Medicine in 2019.
Since 2020 he has been the Coordinator of Research and Medical Education and a professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona.
In 2011 he joined the Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu's Infectious Diseases and Microbiome Research Group.

International travel affects gut microbiota
A collaborative study between the Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD) and the Institut d'Investigació i Innovació Parc Taulí (I3PT) demonstrates that traveling and being exposed to new people, traditions, cultures, and unfamiliar foods can change gut microbiota and its diversity.
