The researcher Lucia Kossarova graduated in 2001 with a BA in Social Sciences from the Utrecht University (Netherlands) and in 2003 with a MA in International Development from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (USA). In 2014 she obtained her PhD in Health Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK).

Between 2014 and 2017 she worked as a Senior Research Analyst at the independent think tank, the Nuffield Trust, in London, focusing her research on improving the quality of health services, with a special focus on children and young people. Previously, she worked at the World Bank, healthcare consulting and also with the patient experience team at the Hospital Clinic. She is a co-founder of an NGO based in Slovakia that works with children in institutional care. 

Between 2013 and 2014 she worked at the London School of Economics as a teaching fellow in Health Economics.

She is currently working as a researcher with the paediatric oncology team and the SJD Patient Experience team.
