Dr. Enric Vicens Pons graduated in Medicine in 1983 from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and is a specialist in Psychiatry since 1989, year in which he obtained his PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca. In 1994, he obtained a postgraduate degree in Hospital Management from the University of Barcelona. In 2003, he obtained the Magisterium in Legal Psychiatry from the Complutense University of Madrid.
He has participated as a teacher in many postgraduate courses and master's degrees related to mental health.
Currently, since 2015, he is the main teaching coordinator of Sant Joan de Déu Park and a member of the Welfare Ethics Committee of the same center. Since 2015, he has also been the Head of Studies of Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu and Chairman of the Teaching Committee.
Among his merits, he is the President of the Sant Joan de Déu Teaching Committee: Mental Health services, Coordinator of the Mental Health Center "Cornellà Sant Joan de Déu: Serveis de Salut Mental", Director of the Area of Penitentiary Psychiatry Sant Joan de Déu : Serveis de Saalut Mental, Director of the Psychiatric Hospitalization Area of the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park and the Referent of the Borderline Personality Disorder Program Sant Joan de Déu and Coordinator of the Mental Health Center "Ripollet Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu"
He is a principal investigator of the Mental Health Group of the National Research Network on Preventive Activities and Health Promotion (RediApp), accredited by the Carlos III Institute.
He has participated in more than 50 papers related to the ethical and legal aspects of medical assistance, also having an important number of publications on the subject.
