The IRSJD reaffirms its commitment to its research team by renewing the HR Excellence in Research Award

L'Insitut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD) has been reaccredited with the HR Excellence in Research Award granted by the European Commission, after successfully passing an evaluation conducted by independent experts. This distinction recognizes institutions that promote good practices in research talent management and align their policies with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

The evaluators highlighted several key aspects of the Institute's people management model:

Institutional commitment: the integration of the HRS4R initiative into the 2018-2023 and 2024-2027 strategic plans as a fundamental pillar of the People and Values policy.

Structural investments: the incorporation of new roles such as the Ombudsperson and the Open Science and Data Expert to strengthen governance and research support.

Internal communication: the creation of dedicated spaces and channels (website, intranet, and welcome materials) to promote the values and commitments of the award.

OTM-R recruitment: the implementation of an open, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process aligned with European standards.

This reaccreditation strengthens the IRSJD's commitment to an ethical, inclusive, and competitive working environment that fosters equal opportunities, transparency, and professional development for research staff.

The HR Excellence in Research Award will allow the Institute to continue using this distinction across all institutional materials and to maintain a prominent presence on the EURAXESS platform, a European reference point for research career opportunities.

Looking ahead, the IRSJD will continue implementing its 2024-2027 Action Plan, setting new goals to consolidate its People and Values model and further promote scientific talent.

"This reaccreditation reinforces our commitment to providing an inspiring, transparent, and competitive work environment for our research staff," says Vanessa Martínez, Director of the People and Values Area at IRSJD.

This recognition is the result of the collective effort of teams, committees, and working groups that actively contributed to the process. The Institute thus reaffirms its commitment to a culture based on talent, scientific integrity, and continuous improvement.
