1. Description

This is a European / international call under the European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR), co-funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe and 37 national and regional funding organisations from 28 countries. The call aims to develop innovative, cost-effective treatment options for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), including new therapies, improved treatment protocols, and strategies to enhance adherence. Through a One Health approach, the call addresses human, animal, plant health, and environmental dimensions of AMR. Projects can last up to three years and are designed to foster transnational collaboration and systemic impact across sectors.

2. Call Topics

Proposals must address at least one of the following themes:

  • Combination Treatments: Develop new combination therapies using existing or novel antimicrobial agents, or coexistence of antimicrobials with adjunctive treatments; improve pharmacokinetics or administration; justify target pathogens, drawing on priority pathogen lists.

  • Adherence Tools and Methods: Identify barriers to adherence in humans, animals, and plants; develop and test digital, behavioural, or sociological tools or interventions to improve adherence; engage end-users, including vulnerable or underserved populations.

  • Veterinary and Agricultural Impact: Assess how antimicrobial use in veterinary or agricultural settings contributes to cross-resistance or environmental transmission; propose optimized formulations, dosing regimens, or delivery routes to reduce AMR risk; generate evidence for policy development.

All proposals must demonstrate added value of transnational, One Health collaboration, justify both the scientific rationale and feasibility, and show expected health, social, or economic impact. Private-sector involvement, particularly SMEs, is strongly encouraged.
