Descripción:

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) Vision is to build the future of science by advancing research and developing technologies to observe, measure, and analyze any biological process within the human body - across spatial scales and in real time.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) Frontiers of Imaging initiative, part of CZI's broader Imaging programme, aims to drive the development of a suite of new imaging tools capable of observing biological processes across spatial scales at the level of tissues, cells, and proteins.

The Advancing Imaging Through Collaborative Projects (RFA) will provide two-year grants to support new and existing collaborative projects to reduce imaging ecosystem fragmentation and accelerate the spread and adoption of technologies, methods, or training resources.

Funding can be requested in one or more of the following categories:

- Validation and dissemination of new imaging technologies: Collaboration between technology developers and imaging scientists to test and validate new imaging systems and/or to adopt new imaging platforms at imaging cores.
- Building capacity: Developing frameworks (eg websites or coordinating organisations) that enable collaborations in the imaging community and online platforms to exchange methods, tools, and protocols.
- Training and education: Organising in-person or online courses on imaging for biomedical researchers and train-the-trainers programmes, implementing and adapting new media for training and education, and developing teaching materials or courses for researchers who are starting their careers as imaging scientists

Given the varying amount needed for the different projects, the applicant will request the appropriate award amount.

Award period and start date: Awards will be two years (24 months) in duration with an expected start date of March 1, 2023.

Requisitos

Applications can be submitted by US and non-US non-profit organisations, public and private institutions, such as colleges, universities, hospitals and laboratories, units of state and local government, companies, and eligible agencies of the federal government.

Applications are welcome from any country.

Project proposals must be submitted by an imaging scientist (engineer, physicist, mathematician, computer scientist, biologist) who is a faculty member (research or tenure track) with at least one Co-PI and no more than ten Co-PIs.

Applications are particularly encouraged from people from underrepresented populations, women, and early career scientists.

Cross-institutional applications are strongly encouraged.
