The European Society for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) is the leading European organisation for individuals and national societies for Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Pain and Perioperative Medicine. Its objectives are to promote the professional role of anaesthesiologists and to improve perioperative patient outcomes by ensuring quality of care and patient safety.

ESAIC administers a range of grants to promote anaesthesia- and intensive care-related research in Europe and to encourage anaesthesiologists and intensivists to extend the frontiers of their practice.

For the 2021/22 application round, ESAIC has established a research grant, co-funded by Sintetica, to support a research project on hemodynamic support in COVID patients.

Budget

The maximum grant is €20,000.

The grant will be held by the applicant's institution.

Requisitos

Eligibility

Applicants must be ESAIC members of good standing. They must be based in an academic institution or hospital in a country represented in the ESAIC Council.

Work must be carried out in a country represented in the ESAIC Council. Applicants are not required to be European citizens.

Application

Applications must be submitted to ESAIC using the online submission form. The application process consists of two steps: a short abstract application followed by a full application for selected applicants.

Key dates for the 2021 application round:

  • Applications open: 1 April 2021
  • Deadline for short abstract applications: 31 May 2021
  • Requests for full applications issued (for selected applicants): 20 July 2021
  • Deadline for full applications: 15 September 2021
  • Successful applicants notified: February 2022
