The American Psychological Foundation (APF) was founded in 1953 to support innovative research that enhances the power of psychology to elevate the human condition and advance human potential. APF provides scholarships and project grants for student and early-career psychologists, and has a global membership.

The APF Lorraine D. Eyde Fund Grants is available annually to support empirical research on the ethical and professional use of psychological tests in a broad range of subject areas.

Call objectives

The grant is designed to sponsor research investigating issues surrounding the ethical and professional use of psychological tests. Research proposals can focus on elements of testing such as privacy and confidentiality; quality of tests (reliability and validity); tests in employment selection; test construction; qualifications of psychologists using tests; race, gender and transgender issues in testing; and inherent bias in tests and testing procedures that disproportionately impact underserved or marginalised populations.

Budget

Two grants of up to $3.500 each are available yearly.

Eligible applicants are graduate students and early career psychologists (no more than ten years postdoctoral).

Researchers from a broad range of content areas are encouraged to apply, including neuropsychology, personality, vocational psychology, educational testing and entrance examinations, cognitive ability testing, and other fields where testing plays a prominent role.
