Alba Tristán-Noguero obtained her degree in Biology (Health Biology) in 2011 at the University of Barcelona. In 2012 she completed a Master in Developmental Biology and Genetics at the University of Barcelona, ​​investigating the genetic basis of autism and cocaine dependence.

In 2019, she obtained the title of Doctor in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona (Cum laude) "Tyrosine hydroxylase Deficiency: Studies in patient samples and in a cellular model".

She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu investigating neurotransmission defects in paediatric patients, focusing especially on Tyrosine Hydroxylase Deficiency (THD), a rare genetic defect that causes childhood parkinsonism.

Alba Tristán collaborates with Antonella Consiglio's laboratory at IDIBELL, characterizing a stem cell-based THD model to better understand the pathophysiology of this disorder and search for new therapeutic approaches.
